In June 2003, a film crew traveled to Australia to join Torres Strait Islander, Rose Elu, to film a fund-raising promotional trailer for the Recognizing Families documentary.

This trailer is  intended to help raise funds for the full documentary project planned to begin May 1, 2004. The Recognizing Families documentary will explore the customary child rearing practices of Native Hawai'ian hanai and Torres Strait Islander kupai omasker.

To view our trailer:

1. 1. Ensure that you have the latest version of QuickTime on your computer. (http://www.quicktime.com)

2. Right-click on the link for your connection speed.

3. Select Save Target As….

4. Select location on your hard drive and click Save.

5. The file will download to your computer. Be patient.

NOTE: The quality of the dial-up .mov is minimal in order to accommodate downloading over a phone line. We highly recommend that you view the broadband version if at all possible.
